The “Invisible Officers” campaign, led by the Medellín Department of Mobility, was honored with a Bronze Statuette in the “Radio & Audio” category at the El Dorado Awards, Colombia’s most prestigious recognition for creative excellence. This award celebrates ideas that address social challenges and inspire meaningful changes in public behavior and perception.
Inteia was proud to support this high-impact initiative, contributing our technological and analytical expertise to help bring the campaign to life. Our role was to help analyze the current #mobility landscape in Medellín and contribute to designing an effective intervention strategy.
This recognition highlights the power of collaboration and innovation to connect with citizens and amplify a message we continuously try to transmit through our work at the Medellín Traffic Control Center: improving quality of life starts with safer, more efficient mobility.
“Invisible Officers” challenged driver behavior in #Medellín by installing hidden speakers in high-incident areas. These speakers played the sound of a traffic officer’s whistle whenever a driver was about to break a traffic rule. The campaign achieved impressive results: a 38% reduction in traffic incidents in targeted areas without issuing tickets, deploying traffic cameras, or placing real officers on-site.
The “Invisible Officers” social experiment proved that thoughtful, creative solutions can lead to safer roads while earning a well-deserved place among the winners at the El Dorado Awards.
